Napier National candidate Katie Nimon is leading Labour candidate Dr Alex Hedley in early voting.
Six candidates challenged the Napier seat in 2026, the electorate, which runs from north of Muriwai near Gisborne to Clive in the south.
Incumbent Nimon is No 26 on her’s party list and has been described as a rising star of National.
