Sydney, Australia: The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) in Western Australia issued a Bushfire Emergency Warning for parts of the Kimberley region on Saturday afternoon, urging residents to take immediate actions as a bushfire threatens lives and homes.
The DFES stated that the high-level warning applies to people in the Ivanhoe agricultural area, including Mulligans Lagoon Road and Weaber Plain Road south to the airstrip in Kununurra, within the Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley.
"You are in danger and need to act immediately to survive. There is a threat to lives and homes," the DFES said.
Residents are instructed to leave immediately if the way is clear, heading north or south along Weaber Plain Road toward a safer location, such as with family or friends outside the danger zone.
