Peoples Democratic Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) has authorised Kayode Ogunbiyi, the Lagos State Deputy Chairman, to act as the party’s state chairman.

The authorisation is contained in a letter dated November 3, 2026, and signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Umar Bature.

The letter, with reference number PDP/NOS/GF1/Vol.1/009 and titled “Authorisation to Act as Acting Chairman”, was addressed to the deputy chairman of the party in the state.

Bature said the decision followed the ill health of the substantive chairman, Mr Muka Popoola.
