1994 was the year of Sony's PlayStation, Pulp Fiction and low-speed Bronco chases.
It was also the year of what was called at the time a 'Republican Revolution'.
The GOP pulled off stunning victories during the midterm elections under the presidency of Democrat Bill Clinton, winning 230 House seats, 53 Senate seats and 12 gubernatorial races.
The significant political shift saw the Democrats lose control of Congress for the first time in decades, following widespread public disillusionment with government, and it soon led to repeated clashes between the new Republican majority and President Clinton.
